The repair desk
Loose, bent or broken? Start here
Walk up to the desk in any open hour with the glasses and any pieces. Hibo or Lyle looks at them with you and says what can be done, and what it takes.
We repair glasses from any shop
You see the problem before we start
We say so when a repair is not worth doing

What we mend
The usual suspects
Screws and temples
A loose screw or a wobbly temple is tightened or replaced at the desk.
Nose pads
Worn or cracked pads are swapped so the frame sits level again.
Crooked frames
A bent frame is warmed and straightened to sit even on your face.
Lenses that pop out
The lens is seated again, or the frame is checked for the reason it came loose.
Broken temples and bridges
We tell you whether a repair is worth doing. Some frames cannot be mended, and we say so.
Scratched or cracked lenses
New lenses are cut from your written prescription and fitted to the frame you have, when it can take them.
How a repair goes
Four short steps
- 01
Step 1: Bring it in
Walk up to the desk. Bring the pieces if something has come off.
- 02
Step 2: We look with you
An optician shows you what is wrong and what can be done.
- 03
Step 3: You decide
We say what it takes and what it costs before we start, in writing for anything beyond a quick fix.
- 04
Step 4: Mended and fitted
The repair is made, cleaned and checked, and the pair is adjusted on your face.
Questions about repairs
Do you repair glasses bought somewhere else?
Yes. We look at any pair and tell you what is possible.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk up to the desk in any open hour. On a busy day we may ask you to leave them with us, and we call you when they are ready.
What if my frame cannot be repaired?
We say so, and we show you frames that could take your lenses.
Bring it in
The repair desk is open every hour the shop is.
